I had been planning for several days. I chose an atrium area at the local (not busy) mall, grabbed a Starbucks and sat down. It was a physical, emotional and mental relief to be free of distractions, and not pressured for time. While I feel that I personally veered away from the books recommended by the challenge, I found the experience very fulfilling.
Title: The Splendid and the Vile by Erik Larson (non-fiction, World War II). My next book will be from one of your thoughtful, recommended lists.
Hours read: A little more than four hours.
